The Fire to Your Flame: We are here Haiti

Hi my fire fighters soon to be world changers! I am sure we are all aware of what happened in Haiti, so I am not here to give you the facts. I am here to tell you about how you can help.

Currently I am back at school. If you are in the Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh areas of NC, here is how you can help. This Friday from 12-8p.m, I will be holding a clothing a food drive for Haiti. The food and clothing drive will be held at Chapel Ridge Apartments right in front of the 700 building.  I am not asking for money, but for the items of clothing and food that they need immediately. We are looking for dried food items and canned goods as well as any clothing you have available, especially clothing for children. Items will then be directly delivered to the local Red Cross foundation.

Donating money is always beautiful, but donating the material resources and your time is even better. It is not about the government, but about the people and specifically the youth and our generation. Get up, out, and help.

If you are willing to donate or volunteer PLEASE contact me directly at kelcie.glass@gmail.com.

If you are not in the area and can not assist on Friday, be sure to visit http://www.care.org. Also reach out to Wyclef’s organization http://www.yele.org.  Be sure to visit http://www.2papercuts.com and look out for what they will be doing to help.
